NORWICH – Officials from the company proposing construction of a high power line through Chenango County will soon be called before state senators at the Norwich High School.
Representatives from New York Regional Interconnect, an Albany-based private company, are to appear before the Senate’s Committee on Energy and Telecommunications at 6 p.m., June 15 in the school gymnasium. The purpose of the hearing is for senate members to gain information relative to the 400 kV line NYRI plans to unite Marcy and Rock Tavern. Senate Committee Director Kimberly Ireland said the venue will be open to the public, but testimony will only be accepted from those invited to speak.
