NORWICH – Chenango County Court saw a wide array of criminals Monday. Some of the defendants were appearing for the first, and hopefully only time, while others seemed familiar with the process.
Jeffrey Ayotte appeared in Chenango County Court Monday awaiting sentencing on charges of second degree burglary.
On Nov. 11, 2004 Ayotte admitted to forcibly entering a residence in Bainbridge. The house located at 1065 East Afton Road contained several firearms, three of which Ayotte admitted to stealing.
Chenango County Court Judge W. Howard Sullivan asked the defendant to detail the night of the event in question.
“I burglarized the house. I stole some guns,” Ayotte said.
Ayotte was charged as a predicate felon, after it was discovered that he pleaded guilty to second degree burglary in Delaware County on June 26, 2000. He served 1-3 years on that charge.
