OXFORD – Oxford is showing no ill effects of losing its career scoring leader to graduation.
Sophomore Jenna Farwell had her second two-goal game as the Blackhawks rolled to their second straight shutout victory. “We played really well and just missed on a number of other great scoring opportunities,” said Oxford coach Jenny Davis.
Christi Baker opened the scoring just 1:43 into play, and Farwell added her first goal with 7:16 remaining in the half. Tori Lints and Vanessa Pierson added second-half goals.
Oxford hosts Greene Thursday at 7 p.m.

BAINBRIDGE – B-G scored two first-half goals to end Greene’s four-year unbeaten streak over the Bobcats.
Jennifer Patten volleyed in Christina Butcher’s crossing pass at 31:54, and Marcie Day added an unassisted goal. “There weren’t a lot of shots in the game, but we were able to work the ball and get some nice crosses,” said B-G coach George Williams. “We have beaten Greene and Sidney so far; those have been good wins for us.”
