County Court Deals With DWI Cases; One Goes To Trial

NORWICH – Chenango County Court had set before it three separate cases of driving while intoxicated Monday, including one that went to trial. One case involved a repeat offender, one caused a four-car accident and one will see a defendant making her argument in front of a jury.

The first defendant, Timothy Fiske, Chenango Forks, pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated. Judge W. Howard Sullivan asked if Fiske would like to say anything. A somber Fiske stood to address the court. “I take full responsibility for my actions. I am sorry, your honor,” Fiske said. The judge gave Fiske one to three years in a correctional facility with possible parole and issued fines in the amount of approximately $1,800. Fiske was cuffed less than two steps from the defendant’s chair and led out of the courtroom by a corrections officer.
