NORWICH – The Chenango County Council of the Arts will be hosting a new exhibit beginning Friday called “Four Friends: Studies in Pastel.”. The show will include the work of four artists from the Greene and Binghamton areas. There will be an opening reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the 27 West Main St.. gallery. The artists will be in attendance.
The four artists have been friends for a long time and have challenged each other to create similar-styled paintings. The artists included are Nancy Goff, Ann Lavo Santacrose, Eileen Stevens and Martina Stolarcyk. There are portraits, scenarios and other works on display. “The exhibit has groupings of these themes by artists to show how each woman has approached the theme in her own style,” Arts Council Gallery Director, Deb Whitman said. Along with the comparative works there is also an area where the artist display their own individual works tailored to their specific delights and personalities.
The paintings are all done using pastels and if you miss the opening exhibit Friday, you can view the works Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. until early November.
