Oxford 4, Sidney 2
OXFORD – Before thunder and lightning ended its second victory over Sidney 12 minutes into the second half, the Blackhawks displayed their own brand of thunder and lightning on offense.
Scoring four goals in the first half, Oxford completed its first regular season sweep over the Warriors in head coach Tim Paden’s memory. “We did have a couple defensive breakdowns, but that was as good as we’ve played on offense all year,” Paden said. “We played a great game.”
Down 2-1 to Sidney after Mike Guerriere’s second goal, Scott Seiler scored the tying tally off a pass from Cory Seiler, and Arik Nisbet netted the go-ahead and game-winner at 29:17 of the first half. Andrew Hubman added an insurance goal for Oxford (5-4-2), who host Walton Saturday night at 6 p.m.
