MORRISVILLE – Coming off its first win of the season on Friday, Otselic Valley was toppled by Poland in the finals of the Morrisville-Eaton Tournament Saturday.
Jamie Stewart had 22 points and Cody Lawson added 16 points for Poland, who briefly gave up a six-point halftime lead to the Vikings, only to snatch it back and lead by nine entering the fourth. “Poland is a solid team and we made a good showing,” said OV coach Dave Loomis. “Even though it was a loss, I felt it was our best game so far this season.”
David Cerasani led OV (1-2) with 23 points and Taylor Duell added 14, and Robert Guyer posted a double-double with 17 points and 16 rebounds.
Friday, the Vikes blitzed M-E in the first half establishing a 26-point lead and coasting to an easy win. Cerasani led with 20 points, while Chris Olin and Justin Shapley netted 10 apiece. OV hosts Cincinnatus Friday.
