Volunteer programs within local communities have strong ties with the aging population and also with anyone wanting to give a lending hand.

The seniors population is increasing and various agencies have taken steps to ensure seniors are provided with quality housing, medical assistance, food and companionship. Chenango County Office of the Aging is the principal agency in the county to provide service to the aging community. With eight centers in the area, seniors can socialize as well as receive meals they otherwise may not get.
