BAINBRIDGE – Jennifer Patten became the third B-G player under head coach Bob Conway to reach the 1,000-point mark for her career Saturday afternoon before her home crowd.
Patten scored her 18th point of the game on the opening basket of the second half to achieve the milestone, and she finished with a game-high 26 points. “All our kids knew about it and they were excited for her,” said Conway, who said Patten was about the only one in the building unaware of her impending achievement. “Our kids were feeding her the ball pretty good in the first half.”
The win clinched a tie for the MAC Division II title, and B-G can wrap it up with a win over second-place Oxford Tuesday.
Mariah Schaeffer added 16 and Marcie Day 15 in the B-G blowout.
