NORWICH – Some people say when it rains on your wedding day, it’s actually a sign of good luck. So what does it mean when almost two feet of snow lands on your special day?
Despite the wretched weather conditions Wednesday, three local couples were determined to be joined in marriage on the most romantic day of the year, Valentine’s Day.
Just after 4 p.m. Wednesday, complete with Judge Howard Sullivan’s homemade bread for the first toast, Jimmy and Virginia Baker and Don and Tricia Knapp were wed in a double wedding ceremony at the Chenango County Courthouse. Both couples said Valentine’s Day was the perfect choice, and it was decided a year ago that they’d wed together.
“We met on Valentine’s Day, so I wanted to be married on Valentine’s Day,” said Virginia.
