Oriskany 46, Otselic Valley 43
ORISKANY – Otselic Valley’s season came to a close in the first round of the Section III Class D playoffs last weekend in Oriskany.
Six players scored points in a dominating third quarter for the host club, who made up a six-point halftime deficit, and moved its lead to eight points in the fourth. OV rallied to within three points and had possession of the ball with five seconds left, but turned the ball over without getting a shot off.
“We played really well, and with just six kids, we probably ran out of steam,” said OV coach Kevin Springer. “I was proud of our girls and the way they came back. It would have been nice to get out of the first round, but we came up short.”
Kylie Martin scored 13 points in the first half for the Vikes (8-12) staking her club to 24-18 lead. Martin finished with 19 and Amber Wood added nine points.
