NORWICH – New ideas are better than no ideas, according to Town of Norwich Supervisor David C. Law, and he has one for Chenango County’s Lt. Warren E. Eaton Airport.
The two-term Republican said a conversation with a land developer in the town last month led him to urge airport officials and members of the Chenango County Planning Board to consider a new marketing approach for the North Norwich facility.
“Many people don’t even know that we can handle jets here,” Law said.
Increased sales of new, one pilot jets - called micro jets - that carry up to six passengers, cause Law to believe there will be more private jets up in the sky in the near future. Because many of those pilots regularly fly their clients’ jets to and from New York City’s major metropolitan airports, some might be looking for a lower cost, safer and more accessible place to park them.
