Chenango Valley 5, Norwich 2

TOWN OF FENTON – Chenango Valley hurler John Santiago pitched six shutout innings as the Warriors shaded the Tornado Thursday afternoon in STAC baseball.

Derek Stupski had two doubles and two RBI for CV, and the second through fourth hitters accounted for six of the Warriors’ eight hits. “That part of their lineup was tough, and Santiago pitched a tremendous game for them,” said Norwich coach John Martinson. “We had had trouble getting on base, and they didn’t hurt themselves defensively.”

Tim Clark had an RBI single in the seventh for Norwich, who play at Oneonta today.
