Norwich 10, Whitney Point 7

WHITNEY POINT – Norwich halted a six-game slide winning its first game against STAC competition this season Monday at Whitney Point.

The Tornado scored three big insurance runs in the final frame to provide the final margin of victory. Paddy Law, Tim Clark, and Coates all had doubles, the latter two driving in runs.

“Aside from the fifth inning, we did an outstanding job with our defense and pitching today,” said Norwich coach John Martinson. “Our pitchers had just one base on balls, and it was key to not put extra runners on base.”

Clark went 4-for-5 to lead Norwich driving in two runs and scoring two. Shane Thompson finished with two RBI, while Mike Moon went 2-for-4. Amos Parry logged four-plus innings for the win.

Mike McCrone homered twice for Whitney Point driving in three runs.
