NORWICH – An independent research firm has named NBT Bancorp one of the “10 Best Rated Companies” in the banking industry based on its honesty and leadership.

Audit Integrity, which analyzed over 8,000 publicly-traded companies, released its report in April stating that banks like NBT “will fare better, not only because of more conservative management, but because of their lower likelihood of facing negative events, such as litigation or Securities and Exchange Commission enforcement actions.”

The group specifically rated the bank on its accounting transparency and corporate governance.
