Area churches have joined forces with Habitat for Humanity International to enlighten and teach children about Christian service habits and how they can help out communities in need.
The theme for this years children’s vacation bible school is “Under Construction.” From 5:45 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 15 through Thursday, July 19 children ages three to sixth grade are invited to attend.
The program is biblically based, uses a construction theme and involves children in activities which are intended to teach the value of “building” Christian community and participating in outreach service missions. Program components include Bible themed activities, worship, music, dramas, community stories, and special craft projects for the children to take home.
A feature of Under Construction is how it involves children directly in service and ministry through Habitat for Humanity International, a well-known Christian housing ministry. While children do not participate in the construction of Habitat homes, they do discover the joy of serving by creating crafts that are given to Habitat partner families and volunteers.
