NORWICH – At approximately 3 p.m., Thursday, an accident taking place in the northern part of the city gained the attention of passersby and emergency crews as one accident ocured right after another.
A 1987 maroon Ford Taurus was attempting to make a left turn from Calvary Drive on to Rte. 12 but pulled out in front of a south bound silver, 2003, Dodge Neon. The driver of the silver Neon, Crystal Mumbulo, 20, attempted to avoid the collision by swerving her vehicle into the center turning lane at about 35 miles per hour. The Neon hit the maroon Taurus’ right fender with its right fender causing enough damage to require both vehicles to be towed. No one was injured in the two vehicle accidents but the elderly driver in the Taurus, Ann Sienkiewiez, 90, “was very shaken” said police.
