Oxford 11, Sidney 2
OXFORD – Oxford made a 180-degree turn from its previous outing in a surprisingly easy win over Sidney Thursday.
Taylor Bates and Kyle Farrington paired up for the opening two goals just six minutes into the contest. In what were carbon copy plays from the opposite sides of the field, Farrington hit a crossing pass to Bates, who headed in the opening goal at 1:17. Five minutes later, it was Bates doing the passing and Farrington heading the ball into the net. “We came out ready to play today, and everything went a lot better,” said Oxford coach Tim Paden. “Sidney is not a bad team, we just had our day.”
Bates, Farrington, and Scott Seiler all had two goals. P.J. Hubman, Andrew Hubman, Tyler Stoddard, and Brandon Winner contributed tallies in the win.
