Cyclones Sweep Four Games In Home Opener

NORWICH –The Cyclones opened their 2007 season Sunday winning all four games at Alumni Field

The new "D" team, comprised of 7- and 8-year-olds, turned back Chittenango 25-13 in its first-ever game.

In the “C” team game, the Cyclones went away with a 34-12 victory against Chittenango.

Killian Benedict opened Cyclones’ scoring with a 25-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. Michael Oralls added a 24-yard TD, with John Marvin adding the point-after touchdown (PAT), Marvin had a nifty 40-yard TD scamper in the second, with Adrian Hoffinan adding the PAT Landon Cummings added a safety in the second for a 22-0 halftime lead.

In the third quarter, Everett Thompson could not be caught on a 30-yard touchdown jaunt. Tristan Rifanburg closed the scoring with a 15-yard TD after returning a Bears kickoff 56 yards.

Landon Cummings, Joe Nelson, Hoffman, Marvin, Benedict, Oralls, Matthew Craig, Jordan Vinal, and Tyier Roberts led the Cyclones’ defense.
