Oxford Tournament
Marathon 6, Oxford 2
Greene 8, Whitesboro 1
OXFORD – Marathon did not need overtime as it did last year in capturing the Blackhawks’ tournament title Saturday evening.
Kaitlyn Bliss and Marta Malmberg had a pair of goals, and Tessa Knapp added a tally giving her four over the two-day tournament to pace the Olympians over the host club.
Marathon picked up the offense with four second-half goals.
Christi Baker and Erin Law scored unassisted for Oxford, who dropped to 2-3 on the season.
Greene, coming off a tight loss to Marathon the previous evening (3-2), routed Whitesboro as Holly Davis scored three goals and Andrea Day finished with her second two-goal game of the tournament.
