Cyclones Win Three Of Four Games At Home Against Utica

NORWICH – In a battle of two undefeated teams, the Cyclones’ “C” team extended its perfect record beating Utica ,12-7.

Tristan Rifanburg hit Michael Oralls on a beautiful 55-yard pass play for a touchdown in the second quarter. A 37-yard pass play to Oralls from Rifanburg set up a three-yard TD run from Rifanburg for the winning TD. Oralls and Rifanburg ran for good yardage on the day.

Everett Thompson had a key rumble recovery at the Norwich five yard line in the third quarter to stop a Bulldogs drive. Spencer Stone and Matt Craig had key fumble recoveries also. Alex Weaver had a TD-saving tackle, and Landon Cummings had many big defensive stops as well. Storm Cook, Oralls, and Rifanburg came up with big defensive plays to aid the cause.

The Cyclones’ “B” team held the Bulldogs’ speed in the check for a convincing 34-13 win.

Michael Sutton had four TDs and 174 yards rushing to lead the Cyclones. Sutton opened the scoring on a 19-yard touchdown in the game’s first two minutes. Jordan Lockwood scored a TD on a 17-yard reverse and added to the score with a point after touchdown pass from Sutton. Sutton had additional TD runs of 13, 51 and 50 yards.
