ROME – Greene won its twelfth game of the season and repeated as Rome Tournament champions with a pair of shutout wins this past weekend.
The finals against the host squad, Christine Conroe and Andrea Day scored goals getting assists each time from tournament MVP Holly Davis.
Friday, after a slow start, the Trojans’ Anna Crumb put her team on the board with eight minutes left in the first half against Little Falls. Davis then scored with seven seconds remaining in the opening 30 minutes. Davis also dished out assists in the second half to goal-scores Day and Erin Smith. “ Little Falls started out strong, then we started clicking and pressuring,” said Greene coach Sue Carlin.
Aside from Davis’ honor, Conroe, Crumb, Smith, and Alyssa David were named to the all-tournament team.
