Canastota 50, Sherburne-Earlville 33
SHERBURNE – Canastota avenged a 19-point loss to Sherburne-Earlville a week ago outscoring the Marauders 21-5 in the last stanza to end the host club’s 10-game winning streak.
“I can’t take anything away from them, they outplayed us tonight,” said S-E coach Jeff Barry. “We had a chance to put them away in the first half and we didn’t. We weren’t able to make shots in the second half, the kids got frustrated, and our shooters stopped shooting.”
Liz McGinley had eight of her 25 points in the last quarter, and Alex Havens bucketed seven in the last quarter. Over the final eight minutes, Canastota made 10-of-11 free throws.
Four Marauders players had six points in the game. Second leading scorer Megan Record did not play due to an injury.
