NORWICH – The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office held its Annual Award Ceremony Friday honoring patrol, corrections and dispatch personnel.
The list of those receiving honors includes “officers who rose above and beyond the call of duty, even in their personal lives,” said Undersheriff Ernest Cutting.
The Joseph J. Benenati Jr. award was presented to Correction’s Sergeant Tonya Shoales for “outstanding dedication in the field of law enforcement and corrections,” said Sheriff Thomas Loughren.
Officer Of The Year awards were presented to the most outstanding individual in the patrol, corrections and dispatch divisions. The award honors exemplary service to the members who, according to the Sheriff, contribute “a professional distinction.”
