CHENANGO COUNTY – A Pennsylvania man who was originally charged with grand larceny after falsely collecting more than $34,000 from the Department of Social Services and Medicaid was offered a reduced charge in exchange for his guilty plea Monday in Chenango County Court.
Anthony Lazzaro, a former Chenango County resident, admitted to offering false documents to a public office in early May. Lazzaro reportedly received $34,191.51 in medical assistance, public assistance and food stamps; however, as per the details of Lazzaro’s plea deal, after paying restitution in full for the amount he had received, Lazzaro was given the opportunity to plead guilty to a lesser charge.
