SPRINGPORT – Assemblyman Gary D. Finch, R–Springport, has learned that the State of New York Workers’ Compensation Board is planning to close the Norwich Customer Service Center in November 2009.

According to Joseph F. Pennisi, executive director of the Workers’ Compensation Board, Governor David Paterson recently required all state agencies to develop and implement cost reduction measures. As part of their plan, the board is closing 11 of their 30 service centers across the state. The closures are expected save $6 million in the next 10 years.
