EARLVILLE – The Earlville Opera House is proud to welcome the Pine Leaf Boys’ lively Cajun and Creole sounds on Saturday at 8 p.m. The Pine Leaf Boys were recently featured on National Public Radio celebrating their own inimitable brand of traditional Cajun and Creole music combined with a youthful exuberance, and they snagged a 2007 Grammy nomination for their latest “Blues de Musicien” album. This performance is generously sponsored by Seven Oaks Clubhouse of Hamilton.
Immediately preceding the performance will be a free Cajun dance workshop at 7 p.m. with dance instructors from Two Left Feet – sign up for this early. Spots are limited.
Steeped in music since children and hailing from farms and towns in the Cajun country of Louisiana, the Pine Leaf Boys own the traditional Cajun sound like that old comfortable pair of shoes you’re not afraid to scuff up and dance around in. They present their music in multiple configurations such a twin fiddle or duo accordion/fiddle, accompanied by bass and drum and plenty of foot stomping.
