Unadilla Valley 3, Unatego 0
NEW BERLIN – Unatego overcame an early two-goal deficit forcing the Storm to net a tying goal late in the game to force a deadlock in Tuesday’s matchup.
Storm senior Hannah Johnson connected from 25 yards out with 12 minutes remaining in a topsy-turvy battle. “It was a well-balanced game and both teams had plenty of scoring opportunities,” said UV coach Chris Bieniek.
UV gained control with two goals in the opening 20 minutes. Senior Amanda Peek tallied at 4:38, and Amanda Tumilowicz added a goal at the 20-minute mark.
Unatego’s Theresa Guardiano initiated a three-goal sequence for the Spartans 40 seconds after Tumilowicz’s goal, and Sarah Mannina tied the game. Ashley Mannina found the net from 30 yards out giving the visitors a one-goal edge entering halftime.
