Norwich netters too tough for Warriors

NORWICH – Norwich swept all four singles matches for the first time this season, and won its second match in as many days to move over the .500 mark.

Sophie Stewart and Bryn Loomis captured straight sets wins at first and second singles, Reva Seager won in straight sets at third singles, and Jessica Lerner improved to 5-0 with a 6-4, 6-4 win at fourth singles. “I thought this would be a closer match,” said Norwich coach John Stewart. “The kids are really playing well and playing with confidence.”

At first doubles, Krissie Collier and Katie Orioli remained perfect on the season as well with a dominant 6-1, 6-1 victory. “This was an impressive win for us,” Stewart added.

Norwich (3-2) is at Johnson City Friday.

NEW BERLIN – A sweep of the doubles matches, both in straight sets, pushed UV to its second win in three matches this season.
