HARPURSVILLE – A penalty stroke with 10 seconds left put the finishing touch on Harpursville’s two-goal victory over the Blackhawks (5-6) Wednesday.

Oxford, despite a large deficit in shots and penalty corners, tied the game in the second half on Jessica Martin’s second goal of the game.

Harpursville’s Mackenzie Townsend found the Oxford cage at 13 minutes for the go-ahead goal. Harpursville finished with 15 shots and 21 total penalty corners. “I was really happy with our penalty corner defense, but you just can’t give a good team that many opportunities,” said Oxford coach Melissa Chrystie. “The first time we played them, we had no scoring chances and got lucky one time. “Today, we knocked on the door a couple of times. Harpursville is a good team, and they outplayed us by a little bit.”
