NORWICH – The streets of Norwich will be bright on Saturday night as the 14th annual Christmas to Remember Parade of Lights travels through downtown Norwich.
The parade, which serves as Norwich’s official kick off to the holiday season, will begin at 6:30 p.m. Participants in the parade will line up on the side streets on the south side of downtown Norwich and will travel down Broad Street, from Eaton Ave. to Fair Street.
This year’s parade will include 52 units, including 24 floats and several police and fire department entries. “This is the largest number of floats we’ve ever had in competition,” said parade organizer Linda Green. In addition to the floats, there will be a bagpiper, a marching band, a pipe band, clowns and horses.
Before the parade begins, local singer Cassidy Lynn will be entertaining the crowd. Lynn, a former Sherburne resident who recently moved to Nashville to pursue her singing career, has opened for national country acts.
