Greene Tip-Off Tournament
Greene 66, Harpursville 28
GREENE – Greene advanced to the finals of its own tournament next Saturday against Whitney Point with a thorough thumping of Harpursville Saturday night.
Crashing the boards in the first half, Greene generated 41 shots over the first two quarters, and prospered on the scoreboard taking a 32-16 lead into the locker room. “We kind of threw it up there, and if we didn’t make (the shot), we went and got the ball,” said Greene coach Jeff Paske.
Senior Dustin Turner scored 12 points in the first half, all on offensive rebound putbacks. He added six steals and three blocked shots.
Scott Gorton led Greene with 15 points, while Evan Moxley racked up a team-best seven assists to go with six steals. Greene plays at Afton Tuesday night, and hosts Oxford on Friday.
