Greene 49, Delhi 41
DELHI – Greene secured its second big division win this week, and with a 4-1 run through the first half of its league slate, is poised to make a run at its first-ever MAC division title.
“It’s always good to get a league win on the road, and this puts us in good position for the second half of the division schedule,” said Greene coach Jeff Paske. “We need to keep playing good defense and finishing on the offensive end.”
Delhi led 35-34 in the fourth quarter until the Trojans’ Dustin Turner converted a three-point play. Turner’s bucket set off an 11-0 run that put the game out of reach. “We played really well defensively in this game,” Paske said. “We forced them to take tough shots, and we held them to one shot most of the time.”
Scott Gorton paced Greene (4-1, 10-4) with 17 points, Dan Carlin added 13 points, and Mark McDermott along with Booker Davis each pulled down 10 rebounds. Evan Moxley dished out six assists.
