NORWICH – Evening Sun/Manpower’s Ryan Revoir took a dish from Mike Genute, and converted a layup with three seconds remaining in double overtime for the final margin in a 56-54 victory over undermanned Leigh Baldwin and Associates Thursday.
Baldwin and Associates began the game with six players and had two players foul out before the end of the regulation. Still, late-game heroics sent the game into extra minutes.
Brian Collier made the first of two free throws with 3.7 seconds left cutting ES/Manpower’s lead to 43-41. Collier intentionally missed the second, and the loose ball was tipped to Pat Flanagan for the tying hoop.
It was the first-ever win for ES/Manpower over Baldwin in four seasons of Norwich YMCA Corporate Men’s Basketball play. Matt Beadle topped the winners with 15 points, Josh Foulds added nine, while Bob Moore and Mike Baldwin netted eight apiece.
Flanagan scored 15 to lead Baldwin and Collier added 14 points.
Norwich Aero 62, Mang 43
Norwich Aero used a dominant second half to put away winless Mang in the first of two games Thursday night.
Mike Shepard and Steve Shanholtzer had 11 points apiece in the second half, and Aero outscored the Insurers 32-21 over the final 20 minutes.
