SHERBURNE – Unlike the first meet this season, Cooperstown did not need a big three-pointers at the end to defeat the Marauders.
Instead, the Redskins’ pressure defense forced 30 turnovers – 17 in the first half – and Brad Ashford’s eight points in the third quarter helped supplement a halftime lead of 11 to an insurmountable 25 points.
“Their pressure defense bothered us, and we didn’t handle it at all,” said S-E coach Kevin Vibbard. “We did many different things, but it boiled down to not moving to the ball and making bad passes.”
The Marauders’ Caleb Brown scored 13 points and Sean Boise added 12.
