Greene 13, B-G 9
GREENE – Down by two runs, Greene plated five in the fifth inning, none of the runs coming on a basehit, to take the lead for good against B-G Wednesday afternoon.
Two sacrifice flies tied the game, and a bases-loaded walk put Greene in front 9-8. Two errors – of the three made by B-G – ensued to give the host club a three-run cushion.
“They didn’t make too many mistakes, but they had a couple of errors that helped us,” said Greene coach Dave Gorton. “We won a game where we were a little sloppy. We didn’t do as well defensively as we had in previous games, but we still made good plays, and made good ones when we needed them.”
Nic Puglisi had three hits, Gage Crumb had two hits and two ribbies, Nate Whittaker had a solo homer in the first and finished with two hits, and Alex Kinne added two base knocks in the victory.
Dustin Rutz doubled twice for B-G in finishing with three hits and three RBI.
Greene (3-1-1) is at Afton Monday.
