NORWICH – Have you ever wondered how to access information on the legislature, campaign finance, member items, lobbying or the governmental decision-making process? A representative from Attorney General Andrew Cuomo’s office will be presenting information on all of that and more at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Guernsey Memorial Library.
Assistant Attorney General for the Binghamton regional office Dennis McCabe will be presenting information on the Project Sunlight web site. A site designed to bring together information for easy access by the public, Project Sunlight has been up and running for two years.
“Project Sunlight is a one-stop shopping web resource,” explained John Maggiore, policy advisor to the Attorney General. Cuomo initially thought of the idea for Project Sunlight when he was running for office. Maggiore explained he would often hear questions about aspects of state government where the answers were a matter of public information. “How to get that information is not always easy,” Maggiore said, so after election, the Attorney General decided to create a web resource to help people find the information they need.
