EARLVILLE – For the second year in a row, the Village of Earlville will be hosting a summer music series, and this year’s season will begin tonight, with local band, Sun Down.
Earlville began a summer concert series last year. Operating with no budget, the village recruited bands to play solely for the tips they received throughout the evening. This year, NBT Bank provided funding for the series, allowing the village to provide a stipend to each of the bands as well as tips from the evening’s performance.
Series organizer Debi Pierce explained that the funding made booking the acts for this year’s series much easier. Eight bands will perform as part of this year’s music series. “We had a lot of great groups last year,” Pierce said. “We tried to get as many as possible from last year, and we tried to add a variety of music to meet the likes of everyone.”
The first performance in the series begins at 7 tonight at the gazebo in the center of town. The band Sun Down will take the stage to kick off the series. A country music band, Sun Down is originally from the New Berlin area and has performed at a variety of local locations and events.
