NEW BERLIN – Southern Tech never knew what hit them – except that it was someone in maroon and white.
Milford Academy, worked its attacking defensive scheme to perfection shutting out Tech, 40-0, Saturday at Fish Field on homecoming weekend.
“We gave up a lot of points the first week and the defense was kind of in disarray,” said Milford Academy coach Bill Chaplick. “They came around this week. We blitzed 78 out of 80 plays last week, and we blitzed every play this week. The style of defense we play, we recruit the best athletes up front, and cornerbacks that can lock down receivers. I don’t think (Southern Tech) has ever seen anything like that.”
Todd Thomas had two interceptions for the Falcons returning the second one 75 yards for a touchdown making it 17-0 in the second quarter. Milford Academy had four interceptions in the first half and six for the game.
