NORWICH – Sept. 14-18 has been designated Chamber of Commerce Week. This week-long celebration is dedicated to promoting greater awareness of the role that chambers play in the business and the community. New York State alone has more than 260 local chambers, which represent some 400,000 businesses and are dedicated to improving the communities they serve as well as the entire Empire State.
A national study done by The Schapiro Group shows that 82% of respondents believe that the local chamber of commerce helps create jobs and promotes local economic development, and that 63% of the consumers are more likely to buy from chamber members.
