Flat tire leads police to 60 pounds of marijuana

OXFORD – The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office arrested three men early Monday after a patrol stopped to help them fix a flat tire only to discover four garbage bags filled with more than $70,000 worth of recently-harvested marijuana inside.

Daniel J. Fahs, 31, and 24-year-old Joshua D. Tracy, both of State Highway 235 in Afton, along with 35-year-old Robert C. Morley, were charged with second criminal possession of marijuana, a D felony.The deputy recorded that he pulled up to help the men at 3:10 a.m. on County Route 32 in the Town of Oxford Monday while on routine road patrol.
