Owego too much for Purple Tornado; OV girls pick up first win

Girls’ Soccer

Owego 8, Norwich 0

NORWICH – Owego put 36 shots on goal against Norwich, and had three players with at least two goals in Tuesday’s shutout victory.

Mandy Spadine led the Indians with a hat trick, while Maddy Tidick and Courtney Malia added two goals apiece. Owego padded the lead at the end scoring three times in the final five minutes.

“They controlled the flow of the game, and their speed from top to bottom was something we couldn’t match,” said Norwich coach Jeremy Bolton. “They had eight different girls take quality shots on goal. Tatyana (Ithier) made some good saves for us, and some of the goals she couldn’t do anything about.”
