Craine re-enters Sherburne politics

SHERBURNE – There are four longtime politicians retiring their board positions in the Town of Sherburne this year: Supervisor Harry W. Conley, Justice Frank Faulkner, Clerk John McDaniel and Councilman Sherman Record.

Republican William C. Craine, 61, of E. State Street, is running unopposed for Chenango County Supervisor, a position he held previously from 1974 to December 1979. Craine was Chairman of the Board of Supervisors in 1976, 1977 and 1978. During his six year tenure, the Sherburne businessman was a member of a number of committees, and was chairman of Finance in 1979. He left public service to attend to personal business matters.

If elected, Craine said his hope would be “to provide the best constituent service I can to the residents of the tTown of Sherburne.”
