NORWICH – On Aug.13, 2009, 11-year-old Kaitlyn Jackson, (from Norwich) had the opportunity to open for Nashville Country Stars: Mark Will, Jeff Bates, and Trent Willmon at the Chenango County Fair during the “Guitars Under the Stars” concert event. One of Kaitlyn’s biggest fans is her grandfather, Henry Bostelman, Sr. He was at the concert and just as Mark Wills began to sing his final song of the night, Kaitlyn’s grandfather suffered a major heart attack in the grandstands. Immediately, two bystanders began CPR and Mouth to Mouth until the Norwich EMS arrived a few minutes later. It is because of these heroes and their quick actions that Kaitlyn’s grandfather is here today.

After everything that took place that day, Kaitlyn wanted to do something to thank these people. Therefore, she is planning to hold a benefit concert where she can recognize these amazing heroes and Kaitlyn and her friends can do what they love, perform. Kaitlyn will be joined by her father, John Jackson and several of her friends from Amber Perkins School of the Arts in Norwich, the ABC School of the performing Arts in Sidney, and the Dance Connection in Binghamton.
