NORWICH – Contractors interested in bidding on the Norwich City School District’s $2.5 million building project met with school administrators and the district’s architects Tuesday.
According to Superintendent Gerard O’Sullivan, the purpose of the pre-bid meeting was to allow contractors the opportunity to review the project specifications with the architectural and engineering firm, Tetra Tech, and do a site walk through.
“We had 10 contractors sitting in the room asking questions,” O’Sullivan reported, and an even greater number have picked up bid packets. According to the superintendent, sealed bids are due by Dec. 22.
“We award the bids at our first school board meeting in January,” he explained, which according to the district calendar is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 13.
