NORWICH – Friday night will find former Norwich resident Denny McCormick performing in his hometown for the first time in decades. The long-time New York City resident will return for one night only on Feb. 5 at the Blarney Stone Pub.
Following his graduation from Norwich High School in 1972, McCormick relocated to New York City to pursue a career in music. That decision has gone full circle now, awarding the guitarist and songwriter the opportunity to return to his hometown with a fresh batch of new, original music.
“I’ve never questioned my decision to move away from home, but as I’ve begun writing again it seemed like a great chance to come back and try out some of the new material,” said McCormick.
Influenced by greats such as James Taylor, the Beatles, the Eagles, Gordon Lightfoot and Joni Mitchell, McCormick stated that he “was never really a part of the band scene” which flourished in Norwich in the early seventies.
