NORWICH – Leigh Baldwin and Associates’ reign atop the Norwich YMCA Men’s Corporate Basketball League ended Thursday night against Pennysaver/ Manpower Temporary Services, 61-60.
In a semifinals playoff game, Daryl Decker received a pass from Mike Genute, and scored the go-ahead layup with 10 seconds left. LBA had two looks at the basket that were off the mark as time expired.
Baldwin and Associates entered the contest as unbeaten three-time defending league champions, and it appeared the defense of those titles would remain intact as they champs rallied from 11 points down early in the second half to take the lead after a pair of Tim Mirabito free throws with under a minute to play.
Brandon Foulds scored 19 points for Pennysaver/Manpower, 12 of those coming in the second half. Dan Ohl scored 12 before fouling out, and Matt Beadle netted 10.
