NORWICH – In the past decade, Byrne Dairy has expanded and revamped several of its upstate New York convenience stores, constructing larger, more modern, sites and offering customers a chance to fill up their gas tanks while shopping. They may be considering the same in Norwich.
An upstate leader in the dairy industry, established in 1933, Byrne Dairy is purportedly interested in purchasing properties on the corner of East Main and Silver Streets, according to an anonymous source, who added that an additional vacant lot adjacent to the East Main Street VFW would also be included in the deal.
According to Chenango County Real Property Tax Office records, no transfer of the aforementioned properties deeds has occurred to date, and the anonymous source said that “it’s a possibility, but nothing is concrete at this time.”
