NORWICH – In recognition of National Quilting Day, the Chenango Piecemakers Quilt Guild celebrated by presenting a special quilt to the first baby born that day at Chenango Memorial Hospital. This year, their quilt was presented to Zyon Kamari Gaters, son of Denise and Paul Gaters of Norwich.
Zyon was born on March 21st and weighed in at 8 pounds, 9 ounces and 21 inches. Mary Rose and Sandy Hall, representatives of the guild, extended the group’s warm wishes as they presented this colorful quilt, which was made especially for the National Quilting Day baby. Each year’s quilt has a special theme and name. This year, the brightly colored quilt is “Teddy Bears.”
