NORWICH – The Norwich Fire Department will be conducting a Live Fire Training Exercise on Thursday between 6 and 8 p.m. The location of this training will be just outside the city line, at the North end of Wales and Cole streets. Smoke and fire may be seen from the north end of the City as this training progresses.
The members of the Norwich Fire Dept. maintain a high skill level with hundreds of hours of training annually. Training topics include, but not limited to, auto extrication, residential and commercial structure fires, water rescue, driver training, hazardous materials, emergency medical services, incident command, weapon of mass destruction, ETC.
“The Norwich Fire Dept. is always looking for motivated individuals interested in serving our community as a volunteer firefighter,” said Chief Tracy Chawgo. Applications can be obtained by stopping at the station on East Main Street in Norwich.
